Allergy Tied to Otitis Media

Thursday, 30 October 2008 15:43

A new study by the University of North Carolina supports evidence linking Otitis Media with allergy.. researchers demonstrated that allergy "dynamically and functionally" inhibits drainage of the ear canal. Allergy causes inflammation of the Eustachian tubee, leading to restricted flow and stasis of effusion, according to researchers.

The study was presented at the American Academy of Otolaryngology's annual conference in San Antonio.
